My first Glossy Box

After reading many a blog about these I couldn`t resist jumping on the bandwagon and subscribing.
To those unfamiliar, Glossy Box send out a beautiful packaged box full of beauty samples and treats all for the small price of £10 per month.

My first box arrived yesterday and brightened up a rather dull day. Plus I was not disappointed.
Even the postal packaging was pretty.

Apparently this months special Valentines box, is a limited edition and the colour of the box is a brighter pink than usual. I can see in a few months I may have a stack of these.
How Cute <3

I have to say my favorite items were most defiantly the Clarins facial cream. Not only have I recently ran out of my usual brand, but this is such a treat. I am on my second night of application and can already feel a slight difference in my skin.

The only other product I have tried bar the Clarins, is the Murad Skin Perfecting Primer. It says it leave a glow and can be used in place of foundation. However this morning, I didn`t feel this to be true. It really has helped my make up stay on longer and I think I shall be researching into primers and finding one that suits me. However the coverage was way to light for my liking to act instead of a foundation.

Glossy Box is such a treat and a nice surprise, was actually quite exciting wondering what would be in it and when it would show up. Also think if there`s products your not a fan of save them up and create you own little boxes as gifts.

A little bit of Miu Miu..

Last year I fell in love like everybody else with the Miu Miu Glitter Ankle Boot. I even tried a pair on and came close to buying them. However this season Miu Miu have done it again. They have left me totally besotted with this little beauty.

I am yet to meet her in real life. But by her description she sounds beautiful. A soft leather, covered in a stunning design of swarovski crystals and a cotton satin lining.
My one slight grudge to this princess is her size, she`s not of the spacious variety and I don`t know wherever she`s worth her hefty price tag, for this reason only. Apart from that I see her as a classic piece which would go with anything from a simple tee and jeans, to a dress, tights and Chelsea boots.
Better get saving or hoping for a sale bargain come clearance season.

The Weekend

Normally my weekend isn`t all that great. It may involve a few glasses of Rose or a tipple of gin and cranberry and a trip to the gym. But the weekend gone was well needed, well awaited.
It was a late Christmas present as such, I had bought my Mum tickets to see Legally Blonde the musical. Sadly I stupidly booked the train a little too early and I didn`t get a lie in at all. But this did mean we fitted in a quick bit of shopping.
You couldn`t visit London without saying hello and popping into Topshop on Oxford Street. This most likely took an hour and a half of our time. Firstly mainly as I was hoping to pick up some left over sale goodies, however no siry. However I did manage to try for the first time within the Office concession, some Jeffery Campbell boots.

I have seen these boots on one of the girls who work in Mac in Selfridges and often admired them. However could not quite work out if they were worth the hefty price tag of over £100 and if they would actually not cripple you.

The first ones pictured are the original boots. However I found them small for size. These were the preferred pair by my Mum, but something about them I just didn`t feel right about.
These spike exclusive pair to Office had something that made me want to whip my credit card out. So much more comfortable, a lot bigger, and super stylish. I did however have to restraint buying them as I couldn`t see how they would fit into my SS12 wardrobe.  Though they are a must, at the top of my wish list.

The day continued with a trip to Liberties, Laudre and a wander around convent garden until it was time to see the show where I couldn`t help myself having a slight tourist moment outside the theatres next door neighbour.

Chanel S/S12

If you have picked up Vogue, or Elle, or Tattler there is no way you would have missed the glossy campaign of Chanel.

At first sight, I wasn’t a major fan. However on my 20 millionth views I have fallen in love.

It’s extremely elegant; never did I think I would say that about greased back hair. Normally in this sort of campaign the clothes sell themselves and could most likely do with out the models. However I think it may actually be the models that make this one. The shapes of their bodies, they look so effortlessly cool and yet so comfortable even in those compromising positions.
There is some sort of story told throughout that I can’t quite get my head around but what ever it is, it`s clearly beautiful.

I think I may get saving the pennies for a 2.5 bag after all. In the mean time I shall wait for the new nail polish due out in May.

My Hero, Our Hair...

It can only be said that I have only experienced bad hair salons within Manchester. And with that being the case it has been a difficult task finding someone I trust to now cut my hair.
However all that changed today when I set myself the mission to ,A. find a salon open late enough so I could go after work and B. Get Olivia Palermo hair.

Simple some may say, not really.

Headmasters however on John Dalton Street, answered task A as they are open till 9pm which suited my 5pm finish perfectly unlike every other city centre salon which closed at 6.
I took with me many a picture showcasing not only Olivia’s cut but also her colour. I was looking for a glossy all over Chocolate with a hint of Mahogany at the tips.

And after two hours I seemed to have got near enough. I have never seen my hair so glossy nor can I remember when it felt that great. I am still yet to decide how I feel about growing out my fringe a la Miss Palermo, as somehow I feel I may miss my sweeping side on a little too much. To top it off, it seems to match my Zara bag, which Olivia has been spotted wearing perfectly.

Blake Lively does Sprinkles NY...

Being part of my favouirte Gossy G duo, and adding cakes I could hardly not blog about this perfect pairing.

Blake Lively teams up with Sprinkles to create a S'more cupcake for charity!

Blake Lively and Sprinkles founder Candace Nelson developed the S'more cupcake using Blake's favourite ingredients. S'more is a graham cracker-lined Belgian dark chocolate cake filled with bittersweet chocolate ganache and topped with toasted marshmallow frosting. Sprinkles is donating 100% of the proceeds* from our S'more cupcake to Oxfam.
Sadly I can’t quite believe that with a figure like hers she’s a regular cupcake eater.
The pictures above were taken back in December however the cupcake is now in Sprinkles stores, across America.

Sadly it’s one cupcake I won’t be getting my hands on. Though I may try track down a similar skirt to Blake’s.

The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards

It would be hard not to talk about the dresses and glamour, after seeing the photos uploaded to every British press and fashion website this morning.

Some of my favourites include:

Charlize Theron looked stunning in Dior Couture and gorgeous vintage Cartier Jewellery.

Michelle Williams looked beautiful in a custom made Jason Wu gown and my favourite of the outfit, a cute vintage Fred Leighton for Forevermark headband and jewels.

Lea Michele I feel shocked us all looking beyond stylish and fabulous in a silver gown Marchesa S/S 12 collection number. This is most certainly my favourite of the night.

I can`t decide how I really feel about Elle Macpherson in this nude Zac Posen gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery. All though she does look beautiful and always will, I feel the dress is quite Barbie inspired and would have suited a classic up do rather than curls.

Only word to describe this lot is Beautiful.

And a little favourite from the shoot forwarded to me by a friend

B`s a baby Momma.....

I may be a bit late in reporting this but its official Queen B, (not Blair Waldorf, the other one) has given birth.
I am slightly disappointed it wasn’t in February as I originally thought so I could share the day of birth with the heiress, but still very exciting.

After many celebrity tweets my favourite being Rihanna

Just imagine if you had an Aunty Rih!!

Obviously this baby now be the most popular on the planet and will have certainly over taken baby Harper-Seven Beckham and Suri Curise.

New Year, New Blog.

Its been a long time since I blogged, but the festive season and my busy social butterfly calendar got the best of me.

However, with it now being five days into the new year I have made some very simple resolutions:

  1. Keep my weight at a happy level, by using a food diary. Very Bridget Jones Esque.

  1. Continue blogging, however on a regular basis.

  1. Buy more clothes, shoes, bags that allow me to look more Olivia and Carrie than ever.

  1. Finally, make savings. Money for a rainy day is something I have never had

All these seem doable, I already have my yearly gym membership that if I go to at least three times a week I should stay at a happy weight and avoid the moaning about muffin tops, fat thighs and wobbly bits.

My blogging once I have a new laptop charger shouldn’t be to much of a problem, but lets just wait and see.

As for number 3, that is not a problem at all. I will quite happily do that all through the year, however it may affect number 4 slightly.

So a little late than never but Happy New Year!!
