A Total Shocker, Gossip Girl Season 5 Finale

Being a major Gossip Girl fan, I not only had shock at Mondays double dose of episode, but the sad news that season six will only be half as long (12 episodes) and the final season for the upper east side.

The finale, like the rest of the season before it, has left me wondering why? How? and What if? I won`t be a spoiler for anyone who is yet to get onto catch up Tv. But your in for a treat.

What were you feelings towards it? Chair? Dair? Or Should she go it alone? Has Blair made the right choice? And what about Serena? Dan? So many questions.

Is this Summer?

Is Summer finally here? I`m finding myself dressing with caution and today was no different.
For quite some time I have refused to wear tights, due to them not matching my spring/summer wardrobe and to stand up against the dreadful weather conditions we kept encountering. Now however by the seems of things we can fully get out our summer wardrobes and wear our pastels pieces galore, lets just hope it lasts.

Today I opted for a more casual look. This Topshop dress is just a basic piece which I think most now have, and if not in grey in one of the many other colours. Its handy to throw on and dress up or down. For example I found myself last week while away in Devon wearing it with my converse and a light jacket. Today however, for work I opted to jazz it up with a new necklace I got from Zara. Its a subtle way of introducing the seasons trend of neon colours into my look. The main piece of this outfit however is the Zara yellow jacket, which many a celeb has been pictured in. I bought it quite a while back and funny enough paired it with a dress, last time the sun made an appearance. Its one of those pieces in my wardrobe I know I can grab, throw on and instantly look smarter.

New Shoes

I saw these shoes in Stylist magazine a few months back, and when they arrived online last week I couldn't help order them.
With the midi heel being top of the trends this season, fitting right in with the ladylike looks seen at Louis Vuttion these shoes are a must.
Not only are they on trend but so pretty, I'm even tempted not to wear them and pop them on a shelf.
Now to find an outfit to match, any ideas?

Whistles Wisteria

Trousers and Top:Whistles Bag: ASOS Shoes: Red or Dead, Schuh Jacket: Zara

I firstly should say sorry for another post on a Floral outfit. However you can most likely tell the floral/printed trouser is my favourite look of the season.

With out a doubt this Wisteria Print for Whistles has been a huge hit. All stores are sold out including House of Fraser and John Lewis concessions. ASOS, had limited sizes and I ended up buying a size too big and getting them altered.

Olivia Palermo recently blogged the outfit, looking amazing as usual. Its such a casual look which can be dressed up for a night out as shown above, or casual. I plan to also wear the piece seperately. I have ordered a Topshop fine pink knit to pair with the trousers, and I`m thinking Navy city shorts, for a work outfit look with the top.
The pieces are both quite pricey, but such an investment with them being 100% silk.

If the matchy matchy pyjama suit look isn`t for you, trying a floral statement jacket with something plainer. The Wisteria print also comes in a jacket, but good luck getting your hands on that. Below are a handful of my favourite statement jackets around at the minute.

1. Topshop Co-Ord Floral Blazer £65
2.River Island Cream Strip Blazer £30
3.Whistles Wisteria Print £150
4.French Connection Electric Meadow Jacket £87

The three day weekend

I've never been a major fan of weekends, unless there is something exciting planned.
This weekend saw me travel home, which included a three hour train journey full of the latest magazines and Percy Pigs. The yearly point to point meet, where plenty of home made cake was consumed, and a wearing of my Hunter wellies. The late giving of my mums birthday presents,Beauty and the beast 3D, which took me straight back to my childhood. Well needed family time and late night back to Manchester sleepover with the boyfriend.
This weeks task is to plan just as good a time for the Jubilee weekend in June. Any suggestions?

An Evening with Disneyrollergirl

This post is a little late, but last week I attended a Manchester Fashion Network event at The Avenue, Spinningfields Flannels store, where a Q&A session was held with well know blogger Disneyrollergirl.

The event told how Navaz Batliwalla broke into the industry as well as blogging. She explained  her career to date, having studied fashion promotion and illustration. She always took advantage of various opportunities to do work experience for magazines, before landing an assistant job where she stayed for five years. She then took the move to go freelance .

Her blog, which she started in 2007 was a way of writing about all the press days and industry events she was attending, giving an insiders view to the outsiders.
The relationship between bloggers and brands was also questioned, Navaz felt that the relationship was still something very new, which companies and brands are still getting the hang of.  It was intriguing to hear her view on how bloggers are accepted in the industry and what the future is.

Unlike a lot of other people attending, I went out of general interest. I got the impression a lot of the audience were pro bloggers, or even from brands. It was so intriguing to hear someone speak about a subject which is quite a taboo. Navaz is clearly an extremely intelligent woman with a vast experience in the industry, this I found inspiring and even plucked up the courage to just say Hi at the end. This was prompted by a tweet from her, after I tweeted my excitement earlier in the day.
I took a lot away from the event, and realised that it is better to keep blogging personal, not to panic if you don`t have an idea for a post every day. This is something I like. I sometimes panic that my blog is only full of recent over spends, and dents in my over draft but,my blog is a personal outnet, and I plan to continue writing about the things I enjoy, that way I know I am writing honestly and keeping to my blogging beliefs.

The LFW Topshop "Olivia" Pant

This post is something I have been waiting to write quite a while.
Everyone has seen the images of Olivia Palermo, from back in February at the Topshop LFW show. Obviously as normal she looked beautiful, but however stood out as she clashed her Leopard print Mulberry pumps, with what is a best selling Topshop Pant.

Everybody knows about. I have seen numerous tweets to Topshop asking when they`ll be hitting stores. Even my boyfriend and his Rugby player house mates are well aware, that every girl needs them this summer.

Since these images were released, I have been waiting for them to hit stores. I managed to nab the jacket a few weeks ago, which alerted me to the arrival of the pants, which I figured would be coming soon. For the past three weeks I have Tweeted, messaged, rang and visited Topshop everyday. And to my surprise the one day I didn`t visit, last Thursday they arrived.
My visit to the Trafford Centre, last Saturday, which was originally planned to buy my boyfriend a pile of birthday presents, was hijacked, by the only one pair left, ironically not in my size Olivia Pant.
I questioned the store staff, rang the town centre store, but no luck.
Luckily after moaning to my Mum, who also wanted a pair about my dramatic day, which yes was only dramatic due to the non Olivia Pant buying, she found them online. Hallelujah.

The pant arrived today and oh my they are just as beautiful in real life.
Normally my posts consist of completed outfits, and just before work pictures. But I just couldn`t help myself. So I have spent my evening working out a few different looks.
Obviously with my slight obsession with Olivia, I wanted to work a neon trend on top. The Green  Tee, is from Zara and works perfectly.
However, knowing this pant is sold out in most stores, and the amount of sizes available online is shrinking by the day, I feel the neon maybe a common look for all who own the pant. So below I have experimented with a few pieces of my wardrobe. Please excuse the messy haired look, and bare feet in a few.

I`m struggling to match some shoes up with the pant, in the pictures below I tried my Topshop Silver bow courts, and some Coral office wedges. The wedges give it a more casual look, teamed with the denim top. The Silver courts, are a fave of mine from this seasons wardrobe and I think they`ll act as a classic pair of shoes in the future.

Which look is your favourite? Is the matching jacket too much? Did you manage to get a pair?
